ABOUT STAR-VECTOR

Project Star-Vector is a free online space game that runs in your web browser, on PC or phone. Every pilot shares one huge galaxy: millions of star systems, space stations, and planets you can land on.

Start with a small fighter and a few credits. Trade goods between stations, take courier, cargo and bounty jobs, fight pirates and the Automata (a rogue machine race), buy bigger ships, fit them out, and paint them. Team up with other pilots in a player faction, trade with them directly, or hunt them in the lawless outer systems.

HOW TO PLAY

Flying: the stick (bottom left) steers. Drag it, or use W / S for nose down / up and A / D to tilt. The throttle slider (bottom right) sets your speed: drag it, or use the up / down arrow keys. Left / right arrows turn (yaw).

Buttons: FIRE (Space), BOOST (Shift, uses fuel), TGT SHIP (E, targets the nearest threat), CRUISE (J, fast travel inside a system), LAUNCH (L, also lands you on a planet pad), JUMP (K, hyperjump to another star).

Map: the round display shows the scanner and the map. Use − / + to zoom from your ship out to the whole galaxy; MAP opens the full star map, where you pick a star to jump to.

Docking: fly slowly into a station's lit slot, or come down gently on a planet's landing pad. Docked, you can trade, take missions, buy ships and parts, repair, and trade with other pilots.

Danger: the core hub systems are policed. Out in the low-security systems pirates and other pilots can attack you. If your ship is destroyed you restart at your last port and lose your cargo unless it was insured.

THE CORE HUBS

Kessa, Sable and the other core hub systems are hand-made starting points with busy stations, good markets and the System Guard watching over them. Beyond them the galaxy is generated, so there is always somewhere nobody has been yet.
